Repérages

Several exhibitions in Switzerland (Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts Lausanne, Galerie APC Fribourg, etc)
and Czech Republic, 2004-2007

Repérages is a series of images mixing numeric photographs, videostills and video installations. The images locate places that belong to our daily lives. They can be perceived as various photogrammes of a filmed trip through urban modernity. The places spotted (council houses, parking lots, roads, filling-stations . . . ) are non-places, hyper-functional spaces that are dehumanized and have no real identity. They are not connected to a particular city, but they can be seen everywhere. Numeric manipulation especially of the movements, the colours and the contrasts bestow an aesthetic dimension, subjective temporality and an imaginary aura to these places. Even distorted, the places remain identifiable, because during the voyage, this location scouting traces the outline of a contemporary mythology that seems both from the familiar and from fantasy.

This photographic work dates from 2004 to 2006 in Prag as well as other places in the Czech Republic.

「repérages」はデジタル画像とスチルビデオカメラと映像インスタレーションを織り交ぜた一連のイメージ作品である。このイメージは日常に属する場所を解析する。都市の近代性を通して、フイルムに収められた旅のさまざまな１コマのように見えるかもしれない。標となる場所（集合住宅、パーキング、道路、ガソリンスタンドなど）は存在しない。極端に機能的な場所で、人間性が感じられず、同一の現実は存在しない場所である。また特定の町が連想されることもないが、私たちはあちらこちらでこの場所に遭遇するだろう。そして、デジタル操作による作品は、とりわけ動き、色彩、コントラストに関して、美の側面、主観的な時間性、そして非現実的な雰囲気をこの場所に与える。しかしまた、デフォルメされることで、この場所は認識されている。なぜなら、旅が進むにつれてこの解析は、近くにありまた幻想を抱かせる、今日の神話の輪郭を描くからである。

この写真作品は、プラハやチェコ共和国のさまざまな場所において、2004年から2006年の間に制作された。
